Directions

Offshoots Permaculture Project may be found within the grounds of Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum, Towneley Park, off Todmorden Rd, Burnley, Lancashire BB11 3RQ. On arrival, you will find Offshoots to the left of the hall through a gateway in the walled garden by the war memorial. Look for the 8 foot carrot!

PLEASE NOTE - If you are using a sat nav device or directions from Google Maps, this will try to direct you to Towneley Hall via an old road through the park which is now a pathway.

From the motorway and when entering Burnley, please follow the brown tourist signs for the Hall.

The garden is open to the public Monday to Friday 10am-4pm, and the first Saturday of each month, 10am-4pm.
Offshoots is FREE to visit, however car park charges apply throughout the park - see below.
No dogs please, except guide dogs.


How to Find Us

By Foot
Towneley Hall is approximately 2 miles from Burnley Town Centre. The Hall is featured on a variety of walks in and around Burnley. See Visit Burnley.com for further details.

By Bicycle
Again, there is a whole host of information with regard to cycle routes around Burnley on Visit Burnley.com.

By Bus
There is public transport available to Towneley Hall from Burnley Bus Station on Centenery Way (opposite Tesco) on Saturdays only. The bus service no is 3 and the service is operated by Traveline. The timetable is available by clicking HERE.
During the week, it is possible to catch a bus at Burnley Bus Station to Todmorden Road (opp. Rock Lane) and enter Towneley Park via the Golf Club. There is a footpath downhill to the Hall and Offshoots is signposted on the Finger Posts around the Hall. The bus service no is 8 (Burnley to Bacup) and you can access the timetable by clicking HERE.

By Train
Burnley has 2 central train stations - Burnley Central and Burnley Manchester Road. The closest one to Offshoots and Burnley Bus Station is Burnley Manchester Road. CLICK HERE to plan your journey with National Rail Enquiries.

By Car
Towneley Hall is well signposted with brown tourist signs on and from the M65, junction 10.
